Local Protection
Scotch Plains includes offices, retail properties, schools, residential communities, and construction sites. Their needs can vary by schedule, occupancy, layout, and public access. GuardEX offers armed and unarmed officers, mobile patrols, remote video monitoring, access control, and video security systems that can be used separately or together. We may staff a regular post, conduct documented visits, watch selected camera feeds after hours, or improve control of daily entry. Every assignment is organized around clear duties and communication.
The Region

Scotch Plains is a Union County township extending from the Route 22 corridor north toward the Watchung Reservation. The community is primarily suburban, with established residential neighborhoods, local shopping areas, schools, parks, and professional offices spread across a relatively broad area. Its traditional center sits near Park Avenue and Front Street, while larger commercial uses are concentrated along Route 22 and other major roads. The township surrounds the smaller borough of Fanwood on three sides, and residents use nearby NJ Transit stations in Fanwood and Westfield for rail service on the Raritan Valley Line. Scotch Plains also borders Plainfield, Clark, Westfield, Mountainside, Berkeley Heights, and several Somerset County communities. The Ash Brook Reservation, Shackamaxon Country Club, and proximity to the Watchung Reservation add significant green space to the area. Historic homes, older village sections, and postwar neighborhoods illustrate the township’s gradual transition from farmland to a well-established New York metropolitan suburb.
